Guns and Cash Stolen in Markham Home Break-In, Police Searching for Suspects

York Regional Police are investigating a break-and-enter in Markham after three firearms and cash were stolen from a residence on Plum Tree Circle.

The homeowner returned around 11 p.m. on Monday, March 31, to discover the break-in had occurred earlier that evening between 8 and 9 p.m. Upon entering the home, they found their gun safe had been pried open, with multiple firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash missing.

Investigators are now looking for suspects and a black Hyundai Tucson SUV that was spotted in the area of 16th Avenue and Warden Avenue around the time of the incident.

Anchor safes securely to a wall, floor, or fixed structure.

Use additional safety measures such as trigger locks or other locking devices.

Always store firearms separately from live ammunition.
